Our configuration came with a 128GB solid-state drive (SSD) for crash-proof reliability—a reasonable $110 option over the standard 120GB hard drive (though it does include active protection that parks the hard drive heads should the machine sense it’s falling).

A word of warning about the Mix Central: It, too, is plagued by the same quirks as the other Disney media tools; you’re better off sticking with iTunes and organizing photos and video yourself.

The Netpal also comes with a one-year limited parts-and-labor warranty. Wireless connectivity comes from an internal Intel 5110 card that supports 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth.
